Û At 24 years old, Nodd Morris is only now hitting Û
Û puberty. His voice is coming into its own and he Û
Û grows in unpredictable spurts. The hair on his Û
Û upper lip is beginning to darken and he’s Û
Û sometimes made fun of for being the biggest kid Û
Û in his class. While performing his music, his Û
Û confidence has worked its way up making him move Û
Û to his music like Dave Matthews; only with a bit Û
Û more rhythm, like a charmed cobra. While several Û
Û descriptions of his music have been tolerated, Û
Û the one that stands out in the author’s mind is Û
Û “Coldplay makes love to Beck while Jack Johnson Û
Û videotapes.” Û
Û Û
Û Morris’s influences, which he insists Û
Û range from “The Beatles, to Beck, to Radiohead Û
Û and everything in between. But nothing outside of Û
Û that,” can be heard throughout his albums and Û
Û seen in his live performances. He may have on a Û
Û clever grin like John, a spazmatic twitch like Û
Û Yorke, or a zombie beat-driven march like Beck at Û
Û any given moment. Û

Û Based in State College, PA, Morris will Û
Û be finishing up his 7 year academic career at Û
Û Penn State University where his degree in Û
Û Economics, with a minor in International Û
Û Business, will catapult his capacity to write Û
Û amazing songs about topics completely irrelevant Û
Û to his studies. However, Nodd Morris hasn’t Û
Û gained all of his wisdom from Penn State. He took Û
Û a semester abroad in jail after researching the Û
Û effects of the supply and demand of drugs in the Û
Û State College area. This 6 month excursion would Û
Û be the turning point of his musical career as Û
Û well when he vowed to “never waste [his] time Û
Û like [that] again”. Û
Û Û
Û With a prior study abroad in rehab, Nodd Û
Û Morris had all the tools to become the sagacious Û
Û pupil he is now. He’s recorded with producers Û
Û Marc Frigo (Indigo Girls) and Jimmy Parr (Carly Û
Û Simon), as well as having Mark Levesque (David Û
Û Bowie, Seven Mary Three) lay down drums for his Û
Û debut album “Burning Bridges” (recorded with Û
Û Parr) which came out in 2007. Morris’s sophomore Û
Û follow-up “The Movie” (Frigo) is set for release Û
Û on May 20th, 2009 and is highly anticipated among Û
Û the cafeteria ladies in the Penn State west Û
Û dining hall. Û
